|Red Sox Woes Continue...
I can't believe it. As if it wasn't enough that the formidable Yankees stole the win away from the Sox yesterday, but they had to have a repeat performance as well today. The run support for each team was identical for both days of play, and the Yankees happened to be in the win column 'ta boot. Man. What happened to this newly reborn, communal, heart-filled team that all die-hard Red Sox fans knew and loved watching in the first half of the season. They just can't seem to hold on to their lead late in the game. Not to mention that the void for 1st base has yet to be filled. I'm not sure how to feel or react right now, still in a state of shock and dismay. With the trade deadline approaching, who knows whether GM Port will take the initiative and show he's got some balls and the tenacity like his troops to go after something in which this great town deserves. I just hope the administration as well as the team are satisfied with the amount of effort they put into the entire season when all the wins and losses are compiled and calculated in September. this has been submitted by timsushi. Well, I certainly consider myself lucky to write among my friends in this on-line journal, let alone be a part of such friendships. Everything I've read has been very informative, entertaining, and interesting to say the least. Now, I would like to take this time to contribute something of interest. It would be an understatement to state that everyone possesses a dream, whether it be attainable or not. Well, as of late, it stands firm that not only is my dream obtainable, but that it has confirmed my pre-existing notions of what it would be like to achieve my dream; Hence, I've been playing a game at a semi-pro level. This dream is the thought of me being the best at a peculiar sport/game, a game that does not get an incredible amount of respect, let alone publicity. My primary hobby/skill is billiards. Since I was 12 years old I've been competitively playing this magnificent game. Combining beauty and frustration in equal proportions, pool is a geometrical purity raised to an art form. Its infinite variability makes it apparent simplicity a mocking yet seductive illusion. Like many sports, pool is a gentleman's game at which every contest, whether for pleasure or for prize, is dominated by courtesy and sportsmanship. In comparison, the winnings of the fifty finest contemporary professional players, taken together, do not approach the earnings of one nationally recognized golf or tennis luminary. In addition, my motivation is not narcissistic and is not "banking" on gaining fame and fortune, but simply stems from a childlike submission to a rigorous discipline in the purest form of love of this most perfect of all games. This piece in which I've just submitted to you,(the reader), obviously displays my feelings about something that I truly love and enjoy. Thus, this was the first of many in which I would like to write in this on-line journal. Obviously, this piece gave me a great deal of satisfaction and I hope that to all who read this felt somewhat gratified as well. Finally, I had a great experience indicating my thoughts tonight, and I know I will do it again soon. Just remember, if you have a dream and would really like to see it come true...(6 E's) envision-experiment-estimate-evaluate-en
